Kate Dewey CD/CDT(BAI), CLE, CBE (She/Her)

Picture
Kate has been a doula and educator in various capacities since 2008. Starting as a Birth Doula, her practice gradually expanded to include Postpartum work, Lactation Education, Childbirth Education, Bereavement Doula trainings and she is now the West Coast Regional Doula Trainer for Birth Arts International. She’s worked with hundreds of families through the years and trained dozens of doulas in her own city, other states in the US and internationally. Her dedication to her work shines through even more a decade into this work. Kate has partnered with her longtime friend and brilliant doula, Jane, to bring sustainability to this work by utilizing a shared-call system. This model is not new to them as Kate had been partnered with KC Johnston since 2014, pioneering this model and working out all of the tweaks!

Her passion also includes doula advocacy and bringing this work to the underserved populations in the Seattle area. As a doula advisor for the eDoula app, she’s excited to expand access to the benefits of doula care for all birthing people who want it.

Kate is passionately anti-racist, supports all birthing genders, all choices in pregnancy and all birthing options.  She’s been interviewed by NPR, The Seattle Times, Pregnancy Magazine and featured in numerous blog posts and podcasts. An avid reader and novice knitter, Kate lives in Lake Forest Park, WA with her husband and their blended brood of 5 kids.
