Overnight Doula Services

Read this: Hold on, an overnight doula? What is this magical thing?

We have three amazing postpartum doulas in our team!  Our experience is vast and includes premature and high-needs infants, singletons, twins and triplets. We work with all family structures, queer, trans and single parents, new families with a history of anxiety or trauma. When you reach out to us for services, we will look at who is available and has expertise with your specific situation.

Jane E. Drichta CPM,CNCS
Overnight Doula and Newborn Sleep Specialist

Picture
As a postpartum doula, Jane can help you identify and implement early parenting skills based on YOUR values. Nobody knows your baby like you do, even if you don’t quite feel that way yet. As a midwife, Jane is accustomed to providing physiological and psychological support to new family, including early breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, hints for recovery after a surgical birth, SIDS prevention, and caring for premature or medically fragile infants. Jane concentrates on overnight care, spending what are literally and emotionally often the darkest hours encouraging and problem solving. A family that is well rested and supported with hands on help, relevant information, and love can move forward into early parenting with confidence and joy.

Kate Dewey CD/CDT(BAI)
Daytime & Overnight Postpartum Doula, Lactation Educator

Picture
Kate Dewey is a Lactation Educator and postpartum doula who has nannied for decades and raised 5 babies of her own... each baby was different and taught her to be constantly flexible. Her unbiased support as you navigate the parenting choices ahead of you will undoubtedly be something you are grateful you have. In the daytime hours she will do light housework, cooking and meal prep, and help you learn to care for your baby. Many families also opt for an overnight shift to help them catch up on sleep during those first exhausting weeks. Kate will arrive at 10pm and send you off to bed while she cares for the needs of the baby until 6am. Careful not to interfere with breastfeeding, she will bring the baby to the feeding parent or work with you to get some pumped milk ready for baby in the wee hours.

Corinna Sullivan
Postpartum Overnight Doula

Originally from Mississippi, Corinna has lived in Seattle for 15 years. After working as a biologist and college instructor, Corinna shifted to full time caregiving for her three children. What began as a gift of time to her friends during their new parenting journey shifted to a career as a post partum doula.

Corinna offers calm and intuitive newborn care and is ready to support caregivers during tender and transformational times. She has experience post partum anxiety and depression and is able to connect with parents gently. Corinna also gets a special joy working with twins.

Corinna breast-and bottle fed her own children and supports all parent-chosen feeding options. As a queer woman, she especially values inclusive feeding choices for queer, non-binary, and trans families.

Overnight Shift
$55/hr for an 8-hour shift

Overnight work is our specialty! We love to help new families find their groove and get some much needed sleep at night. We help support breastfeeding or bottle feeding, or a combination of both. We take care of all infant needs in the middle of the night, and assist with any breastfeeding sessions that happen while we are there.

In-hospital postpartum support:

Kate and Jane are happy to discuss the various needs of people who need the continuous support of a postpartum doula for the entirety of their hospital stay after the birth of a baby. We are knowledgeable about the hospital environment and are generally fun to hang out with.  We will help craft a package for each family's unique situation.

This fee is set at an hourly rate of $55/hour with a retainer due at hire.

FAQs

Do you work with twins?
All the time! Twins are our specialty. We also will work with triplets and if you have quads we'd create a plan with two doulas.

Do you take insurance?
I wish. We can take HSA cards for overnight services and we can give you an invoice to attempt reimbursement, but it's never a guarantee.

Is it possible to do something other than an 8 hour shift?
Maybe?  We usually don't do shorter shifts, but we can occasionally extend a shift if our schedule allows.

I have dogs too, is that okay?
Sure! Jane loves dogs despite being a cat-mom, Kate has a herd of children and lizards and Corinna has a yard full of goats... we love animals!
