Why Work With a Doula Partnership?
After years as solo practicing doulas, we have teamed up to provide a shared-call experience for their clients. This unique practice style allows them to be more available for their families, while continuing to do the work they both love, making their business a more sustainable practice. Some of the benefits of this style for the client are:
A complete doula experience. Two prenatal visits in your home, continuous support for you during your birth and continuing through the first hour postpartum, and one postpartum visit in your home after the birth.
Two heads are better than one. With over 350 births between the two of them and numerous years teaching childbirth classes to thousands families, their experience in the field of birth is vast and they share their knowledge with you at the prenatal visits. Each doula will attend one of the prenatal visits with you and guide you with your preparation for birth.
Shared call means you are always calling a fresh-faced doula when you need one. As we will also be providing backup to each other, you are less likely to have a doula you don't know attending your birth in the event that the primary doula is ill or with another family.
If you are enduring a longer than usual birth, your doulas may opt to swap out in order to get some rest, ensuring that you are always attended by an energized and well rested doula.
We also offer a lot of other services. Our combined skill set include prenatal and postpartum massage, childbirth education, placenta encapsulation, lactation support, and postpartum doula care. If you'd like to add any of these services to your package, please let us know.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I see if we are a good fit?
Set up an interview with our doulas! Click here for our Interested Client Form. We are currently alternating interview locations between Seattle and the Eastside, so look for both options when setting up your interview. A scheduling link will be sent to you upon completion of the form linked above.
After we've met and I have decided to hire you, what happens?
A deposit of $900 is collected upon hire and we will book the appointments for the first and second prenatal visits with your doulas. Each doula will do one prenatal visit with you in your home. The remaining fee of $900 is collected at the second prenatal visit.
What happens when I think I am in labor?
We have one call number that will be provided to our clients so getting in touch with us is simple. The doula on call will help you navigate your early labor and help decide when to join you in labor for more hands on support. The doula will be with you, working through your contractions and helping you navigate through your labor until the birth of your baby. After baby is born, the doula will remain with you for at least the first hour postpartum.
After the birth, is there a postpartum visit?
The doula who primarily attended your birth will come to do your postpartum visit after your baby's birth and you will have access to that same call number in the event that any questions arise during your postpartum time.
