Kate Dewey CD/CDT(BAI), CLE, CBE (She/Her)
Kate has been a doula and educator in various capacities since 2008. Starting as a Birth Doula, her practice gradually expanded to include Postpartum work, Lactation Education, Childbirth Education, Bereavement Doula trainings and she is now the West Coast Regional Birth Doula Trainer for Birth Arts International. She’s worked with hundreds of families through the years and trained of doulas across Washington, Oregon and even overseas in Uganda. Her dedication to her work shines through even more a decade into this work.
Her passion also includes doula advocacy and bringing this work to the underserved populations in the Seattle area. As a doula advisor for the eDoula app, she’s excited to expand access to the benefits of doula care for all birthing people who want it. Kate's exceptional skills with fetal positioning to facilitate a vaginal delivery led her to co-create a training with Dr. Bettina Paek for labor nurses that they presented at the Washington State AWOHNN conference in 2023.
Kate is passionately anti-racist, supports all birthing genders, all choices in pregnancy and all birthing options. She’s been interviewed by NPR, The Seattle Times, Pregnancy & Newborn Magazine and is featured in numerous blog posts and podcasts. An avid reader, Star Wars nerd and novice knitter, Kate lives in Lake Forest Park, WA with her husband and their blended brood of 5 kids.
