Kate Dewey (She/Her)
Postpartum Doula, Certified Lactation Educator
Kate has been a doula and perinatal educator in various capacities since 2008. Starting with birth work and gradually expanding to include postpartum doula work, childbirth and lactation education, advocacy and consultant roles and most recently joining a research team at the University of Washington to study the doula profession in Washington State.
Along with her birth-bestie, Jane, Kate created Seattle's first postpartum-only doula agency, growing to include over 25 contracted doulas that together have served over 300 families since they opened their doors in 2022. Their passion for offering flexibility to new families while also creating sustainability in the doula profession is clear in the way they care for their doula team and offer competitive wages to ensure that they retain the best of the best!
A lifelong Seattleite, Kate lives in the North Seattle area with her husband, Matthew, and their 5 amazing kids. Her family loves to travel, spend time with their community of friends and family, camping, trips to Disney and going to Seattle Sounders matches. Kate is an avid Star Wars fan, a novice knitter and has an obsession with making her bed the most comfy bed on the entire planet.
