ADT: Early Labor Triage
"Is it time yet?"
"Is the baby lined up right?" "Is this prodromal labor?" "I'm so tired... I don't want to get sent home though..." "I'm ONLY 2 centimeters? How is that possible?!" "How much longer is this going to take?" |
Early labor support is HARD and often takes up more of a doula's time and energy than active labor and delivery. Our clients look to us for guidance, reassurance, validation and sometimes answers that we don't have. This training will help you learn how to triage all of the signs of early labor and guide your clients with confidence and caring.
Topics covered:
- Assessing early labor signs and symptoms
- Identifying signs of prodromal labor
- Identifying a malpositioned baby
- The never-ending multip pre-labor
- Partner support: normalizing the process

- Setting boundaries for yourself: when NOT to go
This course qualifies as 2.5 hours of continuing education for Washington state doula recertification and Birth Arts International Doula recertification.
