Tree of Life Placenta Encapsulation
Our Encapsulation process:
We collect the placenta from you within a day or so after your birth. We prepare the placenta in our own kitchen, and thus have a very rapid return time, normally returning your capsules within 24-36 hours from pickup.
Part 1:
About our Environment:
We really go to great lengths to ensure your placenta's environment is welcoming and sterile! We light candles and have a "placenta playlist" of mellow tunes to set the mood while we work. We leave all of our "baggage" at the door when we are around the fresh placenta, and we will say blessings and give thanks to the placenta for all it has done for you and your baby! Please feel free to request anything special you would like us to include at this point. Our placenta "carbon footprint" is not one that we like brag about! We keep a sterile environment at all times and stick to strict food handling guidelines. Most of the materials we use (including the steamer basket) are disposed of after one use.
Umbilical Cord Ritual:
We take great care in the disposal of your baby's umbilical cord and membranes. We save them in a deep freeze and every six months, we perform a combined planting ritual for the cords and membranes.
Current Fee~
$170 for encapsulation
Extra fees apply to twin placentas and out of area clients.

Part 1:
- Clean the placenta and remove the umbilical cord and membranes
- Steam the placenta with the common ingredients found in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Method of Placenta Preparation using Chili Peppers, Lemon and Ginger
- Slice the placenta and place it in the dehydrator for about 6 hours
- Using a "magic bullet", we grind the dehydrated placenta into a fine powder
- Fill the capsules and place in a decorative jar for storage.
