Perinatal Loss Support
Sean Hoke, Perinatal Loss Doula
Perinatal loss is something nobody likes to think about. Pregnancy is supposed to be a joyful time, full of anticipation and hope. The thought of a different outcome is almost unbearable. And yet, 1 in 4 pregnancies in the US end in miscarriage or stillbirth. This statistic is rarely discussed in doctors’ or midwives’ offices, or around the dinner table. It can feel as if nobody understands or cares about the agony these losses can bring.
When my first son was born still in 2013, I was confronted with a myriad of choices, some practical, some emotional, and I realized it was almost impossible to navigate this intense situation whilst in a state of shock and grief. And if I couldn’t, then chances are, others were paralyzed by their heartache as well.
If you are in sorrow, perhaps I can help. Trained in Holding Space for Pregnancy Loss as well as Group Peer Support Facilitation, my perinatal loss support can assist you in walking through this time. Grief never goes away completely, but a trusted, experienced guide can make a difference. Through advocacy, knowledge sharing, and practical suggestions, together we can unravel the complex web of emotions loss can bring.
To contact me about services, please fill out this brief form. This form can be submitted by a provider, nurse, friend, or family member with permission from the birthing person, and I will reach out as soon as possible.
