KC Johnston, LMP, LCCE
Prenatal Massage Therapist, Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator
Birth is a profound and amazing moment in a woman's life and it's an honor every time I am allowed to share in that moment. I come to each birth with respect and awe. I bring my knowledge, my experience, and my heart. I am honest and compassionate, and believe with these things I am able to support and nurture each woman through her journey. It is my hope that every woman will leave her birth feeling empowered and supported, and that every couple will be brought closer together because of this experience.
I believe in the midwifery model of care which states that "pregnancy and birth are normal life processes." This woman-centered approach to prenatal care and birth support has been shown to reduce the incidence of birth injury, trauma, and cesarean section. As a doula I support the mother, not the birth. I will be there for you no matter what type of birth you are choosing.
I gladly work with couples or individuals, from all backgrounds, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or people who find themselves somewhere in the middle on the gender spectrum. I will support you without judgement and with full respect for who you are, I appreciate our differences and will encourage you to make your birth as personal to you as possible.
KC is currently charging $600 for her standard birth package, and $750 for her spa package.

Client Testimonials for KC Johnston
"I absolutely loved having KC as my doula. She helped assist me during the birth of my second baby when I wasn't sure whether or not pain medication was going to be an option for me. She was so amazing and supportive during the entire process. I called her when I felt myself going into labor and she dropped everything to be with me at the hospital. My son was born just before 3:00am and she stayed with me the entire night from 11:00pm to 7:00am. In addition to that, she was there day or night for the first 4 weeks after I had my son. I was determined to breastfeed this time around (something I wasn't successful with the first time) and she was so encouraging. She definitely went above and beyond any expectation I had. Her dedication towards making this process easy and fulfilling has been one of the greatest gifts. I can't say enough good things about her."

"KC is amazing! I wouldn't be able to manage without her, she's so important to us that she'll probably become "aunty KC" to my son Thor :) Its because of her that I can continue to take care of my child the way I want to. Even after she wasn't officially my doula she was still there to help and support me. She is truly a gift from above. I don't think I could ever repay her for all she's done for us."

"KC is WONDERFUL! My husband was deployed for the Army and was unable to be a part of my birthing experience. KC stepped in as my doula/birth partner and was a great support. She is a listener, she breaks down what you say, your concerns, frustrations, fears everything that was on my list and offered amazing information, education and resources. In so many ways this helped make my experience more calm, I felt educated and equipped for what my birth experience would bring.
She was available to me for all of my concerns at any and all hours, and if she didn't hear from me, she checked in to make sure that all was well. It was nice to know that someone else was concerned for me and just didn't want to know if I had the baby yet or not!! When labor and delivery time finally did arrive, she was ready, well familiarized with my birth plan and wishes, she knew exactly what I wanted from my experience and supported me in that. When I was unable to have an epidural since my labor was happening so rapidly, she expertely calmed my fears, explained to me and reminded me that my body was doing it's job. She knew the words that I needed to hear to encourage me through to the final push.
She communicated with my husband through all of this, making sure that he was able to be 'present' even though he was miles away. She made sure that he was able to hear the first cries of his baby daughter, I can't thank her enough for that!!
KC has a calling for being a doula, this is her talent. She is a wealth of knowledge and resources and I highly recommend her as a doula.
Thanks again for being a part of my birthing experience KC!!"
